Within just one week, you’ll be presented with your personalised treatment plan — outlining the steps of your
Clear Aligner journey and showing how your teeth will gradually shift into alignment. The treatment process
typically spans 12 months, but each plan is customised to your unique needs and goals.
Throughout your treatment you’ll have periodic visits to our practice for check-ups and to receive the next

How many hours a day do I need to wear aligners?
20 to 22 hours. Take them out for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing. The more consistently you wear them, the more predictable the result. Skipping days or wearing them part-time adds weeks to the treatment and may compromise the final position.
Can I eat with my aligners in?
No. Take them out for meals and snacks. Eating with aligners in damages them, warps the plastic, and traps food against the teeth. The only thing you can drink with them in is plain water. Coffee, tea, and soft drink stain the aligners and bathe the teeth in acid.
How often do I change aligner trays?
Every 7 to 14 days, depending on the brand and the complexity of the movement. Most systems use 7-day changes for simple cases and 10 to 14 days for more complex ones. We set the schedule in your treatment plan and confirm it at each visit.
Are clear aligners suitable for complex cases?
They handle most cases now — crowding, spacing, rotations, and many bite issues. Very complex cases (severe skeletal discrepancy, large vertical movements, severely rotated teeth) still do better with fixed braces or a combination approach. We will tell you honestly if aligners are not the right tool.
What is the difference between Invisalign and Spark aligners?
Both are clear, removable, custom-made plastic trays with the same basic principle. Spark uses a slightly clearer, more stain-resistant plastic. Invisalign has a larger library of treatment movements and more clinical data behind it. We use both at Bella Dental and will recommend the best fit for your case.
